The Landis S-500 Shoe Machine is specifically designed for orthopedic shoe and foot orthotic production. It is a superior piece of equipment with many advantages over similar machines. Many users choose the S500 Shoe Machine for its versatility. Ample space between the two belts allow the unit to support two users simultaneously each with their own belt and bayonet. This is ideal in labs with limited space and/or budget. Similarly, a single user may fit different grit papers and wheels on each side, reducing time required to switch media between heavy grinding and fine finishing work.

The Landis S-500 is comparable to a Sutton shoe machine, Jack Master shoe machine, Supreme shoe machine, and Stanley Bostitch shoe machine.
